About this work

Note: Yellow Jambhala is a common wealth-deity theme in Tibetan Buddhist art; body color, implements, posture, crown and background details may differ across lineages and thangka works. The following focuses on thangka art, cultural meaning and gift blessings, and makes no claims of religious efficacy.

Key Selling Points

Yellow Jambhala theme, dignified and powerful

The figure sits on a lotus with a resolute expression in an upright composition, presenting the steady, assured artistic spirit of the traditional wealth-deity theme.

The cintamani fruit in his left hand, a detail with vivid meaning

The cintamani fruit in his left hand, also called the wish-fulfilling fruit, accents the picture with its round form, adding a visual expression of cherishing what one has and good aspirations.

The jewel-spitting mongoose in his right hand, a prominent theme

The jewel-spitting mongoose is a common attribute in Yellow Jambhala statuary; echoing the cintamani fruit, it makes the work more recognizable and enjoyable to view.

Black-and-gold gold-thread patterns, fine as brocade

Gold thread lays out the figure's outline, garment folds, halo and background ornament in rich layers, giving a refined, brocade-like texture.

Lotus seat, halo and clouds interwoven, details worth admiring in a tiny space

Lotus petals, halo, clouds and floral patterns link together, making the picture fuller and more ornate amid the vivid contrast of black ground and gold patterns.

Cultural Meaning

Yellow Jambhala's artistic image can often be understood as an expression of cherishing what one has, diligent management and continual accumulation. The cintamani fruit, the jewel-spitting mongoose and the blooming lotus seat together form an abundant, orderly visual language, keeping a steady strength within the work's splendor.

True accumulation lies not only in a single result, but also in judging direction, patience with the process and valuing every investment of effort. The posture of sitting on a lotus and the finely extending gold lines seem to remind us not to rush for success, but to turn goals into solid, doable steps in daily life.

The blessing this black-and-gold thangka art piece conveys is the wish that, in pursuing ideals, arranging life or running a business, one always keeps clarity and composure, cultivating at a steady rhythm so that time slowly settles into a more composed, abundant landscape of life.

May your heart be settled and your efforts gradually bear fruit;

may you cherish what you have and your days be abundant and at peace;

may you accumulate steadily and the road ahead be composed and open.

General craft background

Notes on Black-and-Gold Thangka Craftsmanship

Black-and-gold thangka uses a deep black ground to create a dignified, solemn and richly layered visual effect. The ground is painted mainly with natural mineral carbon black, and gold lines outline the main figures, garment patterns, ritual implements and background details.

Gold materials of different textures are usually used alternately: coarse gold to emphasize contours, decorative patterns and main structures; fine gold to render subtler lines, patterns and local layers. Gold of different purities can be chosen as the craft requires, such as 74 gold and 98 gold, giving rich yet restrained changes of luster on the quiet black ground.

Black-and-gold thangka does not spread large areas of color. Apart from the black ground and gold lines, only the facial features, ritual implements or key patterns receive small touches of natural mineral pigments such as cinnabar, malachite green and azurite blue. Color serves only to brighten details and add layers; the core language remains "black ground, gold lines, local mineral coloring."

This craft gives the work a subtle flowing gold quality under different lighting: dignified and clean from afar, and up close revealing fine, intricate linework and mineral color details.

General condition and aftercare guidance

Condition, Imperfections and Free Replacement Policy

Subtle differences in brushwork, the natural graininess of mineral pigments, changes in the luster of the gold under different lighting, and the slight texture of the canvas and mounting materials are all normal features of a traditional hand-painted thangka, not quality problems.

Because every thangka is hand-painted, no two works are exactly alike. Slight color differences or variations in local brushwork or pattern details caused by photographic lighting, screen display and the properties of natural materials are within the normal range.

If the work you receive has any of the following, we will replace it with a new one free of charge:

Obvious creases, damage or stains on the painting;

Damage to the canvas, paint layer or mounting that affects the overall display;

Obvious and substantial differences in color, material or craftsmanship between the item and the displayed sample;

The main image, size or core craftsmanship seriously does not match the order.

We carefully inspect every work before shipping and only send it once we have confirmed that the painting, materials, mounting and packaging are in good condition, doing our best to ensure the work you receive is complete, beautiful, and meets display and collecting standards.
