About this work

Note: Green Tara is a common Tara figure in Tibetan Buddhist art. Body color, implements, posture, crown and background details may differ across lineages and thangka works. The following focuses on thangka art, cultural meaning and gift blessings, and makes no claims of religious efficacy.

Key Selling Points

1. Green Tara theme, blending gentleness and firmness

Green Tara's image can often be understood as an artistic symbol of kindness, composure and facing life positively, fitting for wishes in which calm, courage and goodwill coexist.

2. Black-and-gold thangka art piece, delicate gold-thread patterns

The subject and background patterns are drawn in gold thread, the lines overlapping in layers to create a fine, brocade-like texture whose details are especially charming on quiet viewing.

3. Relaxed posture with lotus branch and flowers, a lively and vivid theme

One foot extended and a lotus branch lightly raised beside her hand give the composition both the calm of sitting on a lotus and the dynamic beauty of stretching forward.

4. Black ground and gold patterns in vivid contrast, steady and luxurious to the eye

The deep black ground sets off the dazzling gold lines with clear layers, suited both to close viewing of pattern details and to adding Eastern elegance to a display space.

5. Intricate, lasting floral, halo and lotus-seat patterns

From the crown jewels, garment folds and necklaces to the lotus petals, clouds and floral background, everything is finely laid out in gold thread, full yet orderly.

Cultural Meaning

Green Tara's image, seated on a lotus with one foot extended, can often be understood as an artistic expression of resting in the present without losing the will to act. The lotus symbolizes elegance and openness, and within her gentle posture one can also see clarity, decisiveness and strength facing life.

The black-and-gold picture sets gold lines against deep black, as if lush textures were unfolding over a calm ground. It also brings to mind that life may be complex and uncertain, yet amid the clutter one can slowly clarify one's thoughts and keep the goodwill and direction of the heart.

What this mini thangka carries is an understated wish: may one, amid busyness and change, lose neither softness nor firmness; settle oneself in peace and walk every stretch of road with patience.

May your mind be clear and your steps composed and firm;

may gentleness always remain and you be at ease even in the face of change;

may the road you walk gradually gain light and direction.

Suitable For

1. Friends going through a job change or a new stage of life

May they keep a steady mind amid change and begin a new journey with composure and courage.

2. Family and friends who are always on the go and need to ease their pace

3. Collectors who love black-and-gold craftsmanship, thangka painting and Tibetan aesthetics

The black ground with gold lines, brocade-like texture and intricate floral composition are suited to close appreciation of traditional art details.

4. People who care about the atmosphere of a study, tea room or desk

It can be displayed in a reading corner, on a tea table, in an entryway or on a workbench, adding a calm, elegant visual focal point to the space.

General craft background

Notes on Black-and-Gold Thangka Craftsmanship

Black-and-gold thangka uses a deep black ground to create a dignified, solemn and richly layered visual effect. The ground is painted mainly with natural mineral carbon black, and gold lines outline the main figures, garment patterns, ritual implements and background details.

Gold materials of different textures are usually used alternately: coarse gold to emphasize contours, decorative patterns and main structures; fine gold to render subtler lines, patterns and local layers. Gold of different purities can be chosen as the craft requires, such as 74 gold and 98 gold, giving rich yet restrained changes of luster on the quiet black ground.

Black-and-gold thangka does not spread large areas of color. Apart from the black ground and gold lines, only the facial features, ritual implements or key patterns receive small touches of natural mineral pigments such as cinnabar, malachite green and azurite blue. Color serves only to brighten details and add layers; the core language remains "black ground, gold lines, local mineral coloring."

This craft gives the work a subtle flowing gold quality under different lighting: dignified and clean from afar, and up close revealing fine, intricate linework and mineral color details.

General condition and aftercare guidance

Condition, Imperfections and Free Replacement Policy

Subtle differences in brushwork, the natural graininess of mineral pigments, changes in the luster of the gold under different lighting, and the slight texture of the canvas and mounting materials are all normal features of a traditional hand-painted thangka, not quality problems.

Because every thangka is hand-painted, no two works are exactly alike. Slight color differences or variations in local brushwork or pattern details caused by photographic lighting, screen display and the properties of natural materials are within the normal range.

If the work you receive has any of the following, we will replace it with a new one free of charge:

Obvious creases, damage or stains on the painting;

Damage to the canvas, paint layer or mounting that affects the overall display;

Obvious and substantial differences in color, material or craftsmanship between the item and the displayed sample;

The main image, size or core craftsmanship seriously does not match the order.

We carefully inspect every work before shipping and only send it once we have confirmed that the painting, materials, mounting and packaging are in good condition, doing our best to ensure the work you receive is complete, beautiful, and meets display and collecting standards.
